    Difference between contraction of demand and decrease in demand are:
    Basis Contraction of Demand Decrease in Demand
    Meaning It means less demand at a higher price of the commodity. It means less demand at the same price of the commodity.
    Reason The reason behind contraction is rise in the price of the commodity concerned while other factors remain constant. The man reason behind decrease in demand is change in the factors other than the price of the commodity concerned. i.e. decrease in income of the consumer, unfavourable change in taste and preferences, etc.
