P: The snake was innocent and harmless. I regretted at my vulgar and mean act and developed a feeling of pity for him. It was difficult to explain my strange love even for such creature. But I decided to repent for my action.

Q: It was a hot summer day. I came out to fill a pitcher with water. When I came near the water-trough I found a snake resting his throat at the trough stone.

R: But I must confess that I developed a fancy for the snake. It was sipping water patiently. It departed peacefully and pacified. But before it could disappear into a fissure in the earth wall, I threw a log of wood at him. It did not hit him. He withdrew into the hole and disappeared.

S: It was a long golden brown snake. Such snakes are very poisonous. The voice of my human self-demanded that I must kill him at once.
