Direction: Read the following passage carefully and answer the questions based on it:

Once, two friends Mike and Steve set out on a long journey. On their way they had to pass through a forest. It was a dense forest inhabited by many beasts and animals. Mike said to Steve, "My dear friend don't be afraid of the beasts. As long as I am with you, no beast can harm you." Steve replied, "Well, your friendship will be tested if and when an opportunity arises." After some time they saw a bear coming towards them. On seeing the bear they were frightened. But Mike .who promised help and protection to Steve, at once climbed up a tree. He cared for his own safety and paid no attention to his friend. Steve was surprised at his behaviour. He lay down on the earth and pretended to be a dead man. The bear came up to him, smelt him, took him for a dead body and made his way. Seeing the bear out of sight, Mike came down from the tree and asked Steve, "What did the bear whisper in your ears?" Steve replied, Do not trust a false and selfish friend."
