Answer:

(a) It was the winter season and the cherry tree in the old couple?s garden didn?t have leaves. The old man sprinkled a pinch of the ashes and blossoms sprouted out of it. Pink flowers bloomed on it and their fragrance filled the air.

(b) Mr. Gessler spoke English with an inflection of his mother tongue. He had a German accent, which proved that he wasn?t an Englishman.

(c) The next day when the school was to reopen after the summer holidays, monsoon broke out. The roads were flooded with water and an unexpected holiday was declared by the school. Therefore, Nishad and Maya got a holiday.

(d) When the twenty year old volunteer swallowed four drops of the new invention, he started wrinkling and shrivelling up all over and his hair started dropping off and his teeth fell down. Finally he looked like a man who was seventy-five years old. The invention was named ?Vita- Wonk?.

(e) Gopal was asked to prove his cleverness to the king. The king asked him to buy a huge Hilsa-fish and bring it to the palace without anybody asking anything about it.

(f) It is true that failure was in the fate of the Dad as when he got a ladder, it slipped and Dad fell down but he was safe and sound as he fell on the flower bed. Next when Dad swung himself on a branch, it broke and again Dad was on the ground. In his last attempt, Dad jumped on the tree from the garden wall, but he got stuck in the tree and could not get down successfully. In this way failure was in the fate of Dad every time but he was not discouraged.
