(a) Generally, Kari was slow and ponderous, but the narrator noticed that in an attempt to save the young boy?s life, Kari became very fast and darted down like a hawk. He quickly came halfway into the water. He took action very fast to make all possible attempts to save the life of the boy.

(b) Soapy, while heading towards the best restaurant on Broadway, was imagining the whole dinner. He thought he would eat well without making restaurant owner angry for paying no bills. He thought that when his stomach would be filled, he could move to his winter home on Blackwell?s Island.

(c) This is an advise given to the prisoner by police as, ?not to get caught again? is usually an advice given by police to the prisoners, who are released after having completed their term in the jail. The man also had completed his term so now he was released. He also earned five dollars with his ten years? hard labour. This was the money which is given to the prisoners for their work in prison.

(d) The bear used to eat bread, potato, porridge, cabbage, turnip, apples etc. He was not allowed to climb an apple tree to have apples by himself. The other thing he wasn?t allowed to do was the honey extraction directly from a beehive.

(e) Tilloo was a boy full of curiosity. He wanted to know more and more but he had underestimated the security arrangements, so he proceeded on the forbidden passage but his picture was captured by the cameras and sent to the Central Bureau immediately. After this he was not allowed by the security staff and he was led back home. Thus, he come to know about the security arrangements.
