    1. Butane
    2. Methane
    3. Propane
    4. Ethane
Select the correct answer using the codes given below.

    A)  1 and 2

    B)                     2, 3 and 4

    C)   1 and 3

    D) (d) 1, 3 and 4

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

[c] LPG is a flammable mixture of hydrocarbon gases- Propane (\[{{C}_{3}}{{H}_{8}}\]) and Butane (\[{{C}_{4}}{{H}_{10}}\]).Commonly mixture of both gases depending on the season-in winter more propane, in summer more butane. It was first produced in 1910 by Dr Walter Snelling and the first commercial products appeared in 1912. Usually, butane and isobutane are mixed with propane in various proportions, depending on the intended use of the fuel. In case of ethane and methane, the pressures required to liquefy and the amount of metal necessary to hold them under these pressures makes their handling in commercial quantities impractical.
