    [d] CR Das and Motilal Nehru founded Swaraj Party. They took part in elections held under the Act of 1919. The main purpose of 'Council Entry Programme' was to enter into the Legislative Councils, obstruct their working, expose their real nature and arouse public enthusiasm. They won 42 out of 101 seats in Central Legislative Assembly and a majority in central provinces. Vallabhbhai Patel, in 1925 was elected as President of Central Legislative Assembly, They continued till 1930, when they decided to leave the government due to the resolutions passed in Lahore Congress and beginning of Civil Disobedience Movement.
