    Four friends L, M, N and O are seated in a circle facing the centre but not necessarily in the same order. Is anyone seated exactly between N and O, when counted from the left of N? I. M is seated on the immediate right of N. II. M is seated on the immediate left of L. O is not an immediate neighbour of M.

    A)  if the data in statement I alone are sufficient to answer the question, while the data in statement II alone are not sufficient to answer the question.

    B)  if the data in statement II alone are sufficient to answer the question, while the data in statement I alone are not sufficient to answer the question.

    C)  if the data either in statement I alone or in statement II alone are sufficient to answer the question.

    D)  if the data in both statement I and II together are not sufficient to answer the question.

    E)  if the data in both statement I and II together are necessary to answer the question.

    Solution :

    From I.       Hence I is not sufficient to answer the question. From II.        Hence no one is seated exactly between N and O, when counted from left of N. Hence statement II is sufficient to answer the question.
