    A)              if the data in statement I alone are sufficient to answer the question, while the data in statement II alone are not sufficient to answer the question.

    B)              if the data in statement II alone are sufficient to answer the question, while the data in statement I alone are not sufficient to answer the question.

    C)              if the data either in statement I alone or in statement II alone are sufficient to answer the question.

    D)              if the data in both statement I and II together are not sufficient to answer the question.

    E)  if the data in both statement I and II together are necessary to answer the question.

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

From I. 15% of work\[=\frac{15}{100}=\frac{3}{20}\] \[\because \]\[\frac{3}{20}\]work is completed by 6 workers in 6 days \[\therefore \] 1 work is completed by 6 workers in \[6\times \frac{20}{3}=40\,days\] Now, in 40 days 6 workers can complete the work. \[\therefore \] In 8 days \[\frac{40\times 6}{8}=30\]workers Hence I alone is sufficient [o answer the question. From II. 16 workers can complete the work in 14 days \[\therefore \] In 14 days the work is complete by 16 workers \[\therefore \] In 8 days the work is complete by \[\left( \frac{14\times 16}{8} \right)=28\]workers             Hence II alone is also sufficient.
