    Solution :

    Let the speed of the man in still water be x kmph. Downstream speed = (x + 3.5) kmph Upstream Speed == (x - 3.e) kmph Now, \[4\times (x+3.5)=(x-3.5)\times 7.5\] or, \[4x+14=7.5x-26.25\] or\[3.5x=40.25\] \[\therefore x=\frac{40.25}{3.5}=11.5kmph\]
