Direction: In every question two rows are given and to find out the resultant of a particular row you need to follow the following steps.
Step I. If an odd number is followed by an even number then the resultant will be the addition of both the numbers.
Step II. If an even number is followed by a perfect square then the resultant will be the subtraction of the square number from the even number.
Step III. If an odd number is followed by another odd number then the resultant will be the addition of both the numbers.
Step IV. If an even number is followed by an even number then the resultant comes by multiplying the number.
Note: Apply Step IV if step II is not applicable.
    Find the difference between the resultants of the two rows, if X is the resultant of the first row. \[\begin{matrix}    18 & 16 & 8  \\    26 & X & 6  \\ \end{matrix}\]

    A)  49

    B)  52

    C)  44

    D)  61

    E)  None of these

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

For row I. First, step II is applied and then Step IV is applied. \[18-16=2,\,\,2\times 8=16\] For row II. First, Step II is applied and then Step IV is applied. \[26-16=10,\]\[10\times 6=60\] The difference between the resultants of both the rows\[=60-16=44\]
