    A)  23.12 litres

    B)         27 litres

    C)         21.55 litres

    D)         37.55 litres

    E)  32 litres

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

    Ratio pf milk to water in Jar A = 140: 25 = 28: 5 The quantity of mixture taken out from Jar A = x litres Then, the quantity of milk \[=\frac{28}{33}x\] Quantity of water \[=\frac{5x}{33}\] Now, in Jar B \[=\frac{\frac{28x}{33}+16}{\frac{5x}{33}}=\frac{21}{2}\] \[or,\frac{28x+16\times 33}{5x}=\frac{21}{2}\]  or, 56x + 1056 = l05x or, 49x = 1056 \[\therefore x=\frac{1056}{49}=21.55liters\]
