  • question_answer
A bomb is dropped from an aeroplane when it is at a height h directly above the target. If the aero plane is moving horizontally at a speed v, the distance by which bomb will miss the target is given by

    A)  \[2v\sqrt{\frac{h}{g}}\]

    B)  \[v\sqrt{\frac{h}{g}}\]

    C)  \[v\sqrt{\frac{2h}{g}}\]

    D)  \[v\sqrt{\frac{h}{2g}}\]

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

As the bomb is released directly above the target, the distance by which the bomb will miss the target must be equal to its horizontal range, i.e., \[\Delta x=(SA+AP)-SP\]
