Upon digestion with Hind III: For allele Q, there is the presence of 3 restriction sites, 2 restriction fragments will be formed. For allele q, there is the presence of 2 restriction sites, 1 large restriction fragment will be formed, resulting in a band that is nearest- to the well. From the analysis, there is only 1 band (nearest to the well) observed. This indicates that individual Z carries allele q. The band is more intense as there is twice as much DNA in it proving that individual Z is a homozygote carrying two copies of the allele (qq).
