From a rope 68 m long, pieces of equal size are cut. If length of one piece is \[4\frac{1}{4}\] m, Find the number of such pieces.

    Answer:

    \[\because \]Total length of rope = 68 m Here, the pieces of equal size are cut. Length of 1 piece \[=4\frac{1}{4}m=\frac{4\times 4\times 1}{4}=\frac{17}{4}m\] Number of pieces of the rope\[=68\div \frac{17}{4}=68\times \frac{4}{17}\] \[\left[ \because reciprocal\text{ }of\frac{17}{4}=\frac{4}{17} \right]\] \[=\frac{68\times 4}{17}=4\times 4=16\]pieces                                                                                                                Thus, total equal length pieces are 16.
