A train 100 m long is running at the speed of 21 km/h and another train 150m long is running at the speed of 36 km/h in the same direction. How long will the faster train take to pass the first train?

    A) 45 s

    B)  50 s

    C)  60 s

    D)  65 s

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

Total distance =100 +150= 250m Since, the trains are running in the same direction. \[\therefore \]Relative speed of the faster train \[=(36-21)\]km/h = 15 km/h \[=\frac{15\times 5}{18}\]m/s\[=\frac{25}{6}\]m/s Time taken to cross each other. \[=\frac{250}{\frac{25}{6}}=\frac{250\times 6}{25}=60s\]
