  • question_answer
    The radius of base and slant height of a cone are in the ratio 4 : 7. If its curved surface area is \[792\,\,c{{m}^{2}},\]then the radius (in cm) of its base is \[\left( \text{Use}\,\,\pi =\frac{22}{7} \right)\]

    A) 8

    B)  12

    C)  14

    D)  16

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

    Radius = 4x cm and slant height\[(l)=7x\,\,\text{cm}\] \[\therefore \]\[\pi rl=\frac{22}{7}\times 4x\times 7x=792\] \[\Rightarrow \]\[{{x}^{2}}=\frac{792\times 7}{22\times 4\times 7}=9\] \[\therefore \]\[x=3\] Radius \[=4\times 3=12\,\,\text{cm}\]
