    Four friends started a business with equal capital. After calculation they found out that if two more friends invest the equal capital, then the investment of each of the four friends will be Rs.  12000 less. How much capital was invested by four friends?

    Solution :

    Each friend invested = Rs. x \[\therefore \]Amount invested by four friends = 4x If two more friends invest Rs. x each then total investment \[=4x+2x=6x\] Amount saved by four friends = Amount invested by 2 friends = 2x                                     \[\Rightarrow \]   \[x=\frac{4\times 1200}{2}\]= Rs. 24000                 \[\therefore \]Total investment of 4 friends \[=2400\times 4\] = Rs. 96000
