    Solution :

    Initial strength of students in 1992 = 1500 Number of students who joined till 1996 \[=300+250+500+450=1500\] Number of students who left till 1996 \[=250+350+400+300=1300\] Hence, total strength of school during 1996             \[=(1500-1300)+1500=200+1500=1700\]
