A man spends a part of his monthly income and saves a part of it. The ratio of his expenditure to his saving is 26 : 3. If his monthly income is Rs. 7250, what is the amount of his monthly savings?

    A) Rs. 350

    B)  Rs. 290

    C)  Rs.750

    D)  Rs. 780

    Correct Answer: C

    Solution :

    Let his expenditures be Rs. \[26x\]and savings be Rs. \[3x.\] \[\therefore \]      \[26x+3x=7250\] \[\Rightarrow \]   \[29x=7250\] \[\Rightarrow \]   \[x=\frac{7250}{29}=250\] \[\therefore \]      Savings \[=3x\]= Rs. 750
