The value of k for which the system \[kx+2y=5\] \[3x+y=1\] has  unique solution,  no solution

    A)  \[k\ne 6\]and \[k=6\]

    B)  \[k\ne 3\]and \[k=3\]

    C)  \[k\ne 2\]and \[k=2\]

    D)  None of these

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

    Here, the equation have an unique solution, if \[\frac{{{a}_{1}}}{{{a}_{2}}}\ne \frac{{{b}_{1}}}{{{b}_{2}}}\] i.e., if    \[\frac{k}{3}\ne \frac{2}{1}\]\[\Rightarrow \]if \[k\ne 6\]  The equation has no solution, if \[\frac{{{a}_{1}}}{{{a}_{2}}}=\frac{{{b}_{1}}}{b}\ne \frac{{{c}_{1}}}{{{c}_{2}}}\] \[\therefore \]      \[\frac{k}{3}=\frac{2}{1}\]\[\Rightarrow \]\[k=6\]
