    [b] Dharwad System: According to Wadia, these are oldest metamorphic rocks. These rocks are formed in different periods, oldest among these about 3100 million years ago and newest 2300 million years ago. These rocks made of Horn blend, schist, quartzite, philite, slate, crystal limestone and dolomite. Well developed in the Dharwad- Bellary-Mysore Belt of Karnataka and also extended to Jharkhand (Ranchi and Hazaribagh), Madhya Pradesh (Balaghat, Rewa). Chhattisgarh (Batar, Dantweara, Kanker), Orissa (Sundergarh, Keonjhar) and in the Aravalli between Jaipur and Meghalaya. Economic Importance: It is most important from economic point of view: About all the minerals such as Gold, Manganese, Iron, Copper, Tungsten, Chromium, Zinc, Flurite, Ilmenite, Lead, Surma, Mica, Cobalt, Asbestos, Corundum, Marble and Granite are found in these rocks.
