Glyoxysomes are microbodies which contain enzymes for oxidation of fatty acids and glyoxylate cycle. Like other microbodies, glyoxysomes have a covering membrane and a matrix with a crystalloid core. The enzymes present in the matrix catalysed-oxidation of fatty acid to produce acetyl CoA.
