  • question_answer
A hollow cylindrical iron pipe of length \[1.4\text{ }m\]has base radius \[2.5\text{ }cm\]and thickness of the metal is 1 cm. What is the volume of the iron used in the pipe?

    A) \[2640\text{ }cu\text{ }cm\]

    B)  \[2604\text{ }cu\text{ }cm\]

    C)                     \[2460\text{ }cu\text{ }cm\]

    D)         None of these

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

    \[\therefore \] Volume of pipe, \[V=\pi \left( r_{1}^{2}-r_{2}^{2} \right)\times h\] \[=\frac{22}{7}[{{(3.5)}^{2}}-{{(2.5)}^{2}}]\times 140\] \[=\frac{22}{7}(12.25-6.25)\times 140\] \[=22\times 6\times 20=2640\,cu\,cm\]
