    Solution :

     Work done by the waste pipe in 1 minute      \[=\frac{1}{15}\left( \frac{1}{18}+\frac{1}{27} \right)=\left( \frac{1}{15}\,\,\,\,\frac{5}{54} \right)=\frac{7}{270}\] (\[-\] sign means emptying )     Volume of \[\frac{7}{270}\] part = 3 gallons    Volume of whole \[=\left( 3\,\,\,\frac{270}{7} \right)\] gallons \[=115.7\] gallons.
