     Ratio of rates of working of A and B \[=3:1.\] So, ratio of times taken \[=1:3.\] As 1 days work \[=\frac{1}{8};\] Bs 1 days work \[=\frac{1}{24}\] (A + B)s 1 days work \[=\frac{1}{8}+\frac{1}{24}=\frac{4}{24}=\frac{1}{6}\] So, A and B together can finish the work in 6 days.
