     Let P.W. be Rs. \[x\] Then, S.I. on Rs. \[x\] at 18% for 8 months = Rs.240. \[\therefore \] \[x\times 18\times \frac{8}{12}\,\,\,\,\,\frac{1}{100}=240\]   or  \[x=2000.\] \[\therefore \]P.W. = Rs. 2000. \[\therefore \]Sum due =P.W. + T.D. = Rs. \[(2000+240)\] = Rs. 2240.
