    Solution :

    Let the length be l and breadth be b. Then area \[=l\times b\] ? (i) Again, new area\[=1.27l\times 0.85b=1.0795lb\] Percentage change in area \[=\frac{1.0795lb-lb}{lb}\times 100=0.0795\times 100\] \[=7.95%\] So, there is 7.95% increase in the area of the rectangle. Logical Approach: Required % change in area \[=+27+(-15)+\frac{(27)\times (-15)}{100}\] \[=12-4.05=7.95%\]
