The amount of solute that will dissolve in a given amount of solvent at a
particular temperature is called solubility.
Solubility is expressed as grams of solute per 100 of solvent and for
gases in parts per million of solvent. (1)
Solubility depends upon
(i) Nature of solute
(ii) Nature of solvent and
(iii) Temperature. (1)
