The speed-time graph of car is given below. From the graph answer the questions that follow (i) What type of motion is represented by OA? (ii) State, how the distance travelled in any section is determined? (iii) In which section car has zero acceleration? (iv) What is the acceleration of the car from 0 to A? (v) What is the retardation of the car from B to C?                                            Or The velocity-time graph for an object is shown in the following figure. (i) Which kind of motion, the graph represents? (ii) What does the slope represent ? (iii) What does the area under the graph represent? (iv) Calculate the distance travelled by the objects. (v) Calculate the acceleration.

    Answer:

    (i) This is uniformly accelerated motion.   (1)         (ii) It is calculated by finding the area of that reaction.     (1) (iii) In section AB, as motion is uniform.                                                                                            (1) (iv) Change in velocity Change in time                                                                                                                                                                      (1) (v) Change in velocity Change in time                                                                                                                                                                                 (1) OR (i) Uniformly accelerated motion. (ii) Acceleration of the object. (iii) Distance travelled by the object.                                                                                                                                                                       (2)          (iv) Distance travelled in 25 s.                                                                                                                                                                           (1) = Area of triangle                                                                                                                                                                                                                (1) (v)Acceleration                                                                                                                                                                                                                (1)
