    Why does a block of plastic released under water come up to the surface of water?  

    Answer:

    Since, block of plastic is light in weight, it displaces more weight of water than its own weight, therefore, experiences more buoyant force than its own weight. This buoyant force pushes it up to the surface of water.                                                     (2)
