Answer:

    (a) Gaston is better is business. He earned a clean profit of one hundred thousand francs without making any investment. On the other hand, Juliette was unable to convince Gaston to buy the villa. (b) When Duke met Chuck after his accident, he soon understood his physical condition. Being a dog, Duke made his master walk regularly, which enabled chuck to move. Duke acted like a nurse and guide for Chuck and helped him to move daily. Thus, Duke was an extraordinary dog. (c) When the Sun rays fall on the emerging brook, it reflect light and sparkles. To personify the brook, the word 'sparkle' has been used by the poet. (d) The two roads that the author comes across are (i) First, which was frequently travelled by the people. It symbolised a commom and easier path in life. (ii) Second, which was not frequently travelled by the people. It symbolised the path which was difficult to follow.
