    B)  if neither Conclusion I nor Conclusion II follows

    C)  if only Conclusion I follows Give answer

    D)  if both the Conclusion I and Conclusion II follow

    E)  if only Conclusion II follows

    Correct Answer: A

    Solution :

    (i) All leaves are flowers \[\to \] Universal Affirmative (A -type).
(ii) Some branches are trees \[\to \] Particular Affirmative (I - type).
(iii) No flower is a branch \[\to \] Universal Negative (E - type).
(iv) Some flowers are not branches \[\to \] Particular Negative (O -type).
Both the Premises are Particular Affirmative (I-type). No Conclusion follows from the two Particular Premises. Conclusions I and II form Complementary Pair. There- fore, either Conclusion I or Conclusion II follows. Thus, option [a] is the answer.
