    Some ponds are rivers.
    Conclusions
    I. No river is a lake.
    II. At least some rivers are lakes.

    Solution :

    (i) All leaves are flowers \[\to \] Universal Affirmative (A -type).
    (ii) Some branches are trees \[\to \] Particular Affirmative (I - type).
    (iii) No flower is a branch \[\to \] Universal Negative (E - type).
    (iv) Some flowers are not branches \[\to \] Particular Negative (O -type).
    Both the Premises are Particular Affirmative (I-type). No Conclusion follows from the two Particular Premises. Conclusions I and II form Complementary Pair. There- fore, either Conclusion I or Conclusion II follows. Thus, option [a] is the answer.
