A bag contains 3 red balls, 5 blue balls and 6 green balls. If 3 balls are randomly drawn, then hat is the probability that all are blue coloured?

    A) \[\frac{3}{182}\]

    B) \[\frac{5}{182}\]

    C) \[\frac{5}{12}\]

    D) \[\frac{1}{4}\]

    E) \[\frac{1}{8}\]

    Correct Answer: B

    Solution :

     Total number of balls in the bag =3+5+6 = 14            Total possible outcomes     = Selection of 3 balls out of 14 balls                      \[{{=}^{14}}{{C}_{3}}=\frac{14\times 13\times 12}{1\times 2\times 3}=364\] Total favourable outcomes = Selection of 3 balls out of 5 blue balls \[{{=}^{5}}{{C}_{3}}=\frac{5\times 4\times 3}{1\times 2\times 3}=10\] \[\therefore \]Required probability      \[=\frac{10}{364}=\frac{5}{182}\]
