    Solution :

     CP of each article \[=\frac{100}{100+\Pr ofit%}\times S.P.\]             \[=\frac{100}{140}\times 35=25\]             \[\therefore \] SP for a profit of 60% \[=160%\,\,\,\,of\,\,25\] \[=\frac{25\times 160}{100}=Rs.40\]
