Direction: In the question given below three statements are followed by two conclusions numbered I and II. You have to take the given statements to be true even if they seem to be at variance with commonly known facts. Read the conclusions and decide which conclusion logically follows from the given statements disregarding commonly known facts and give answer.
Statements:  Some balls are bats. Some bats are wickets. No wicket is a helmet. Conc. : I        All helmets being bats is a possibility. II         At least some balls are wickets.

    A)  if only conclusion II follows.

    B)  if both conclusions I and II follow.

    C)  if neither conclusion I nor II follows.

    D)  if either conclusion I or II follows.

    E)  if only conclusion I follows.

    Correct Answer: E

    Solution :

Some bats are wickets (I)+ No wicket is a helmet \[(E)=I+E=0=\] Some bats are helmets (O). But the possibility in I exists. Hence conclusion I follows. Again, Some balls arc bats (I)+ Some bats are wickets (I)=I+I= No conclusion. Hence conclusion II does not follow.
