Directions (Q. 1 – 5): Read the following passage carefully and answer the given questions. Somudutt was an old man. He was about 70 years old. At this age, he could not work properly. Somudutt had earned enough in his life. He had three sons and one daughter. He married his daughter to a gentleman. She was happy with her husband. His sons were always very harsh to others. Nobody liked them. Their business had also flopped. All of them were married and had children. They had no business or job and, therefore, they had decided to enjoy their lives on their father's hard-earned money. They never cared to listen to their father's advice. They knew their father wouldn't give anything more than the basic needs so long as he was alive. One day Somudutt felt very weak. He was ill. He called his sons to his bed. He said to the eldest son, “I feel I am in my last days. Come and see if there is any tooth in my mouth.” All the sons said, “No, there is no tooth in your mouth. You are so old, how can there be any in your mouth?” They were surprised at their father's question. But the father again said, “Try to find out if my tongue is there in my mouth.” “Of course,” said the sons laughingly. Somudutt said, “I got my tongue before I got teeth in my mouth. My teeth decayed because they were hard and stiff. But my tongue still remains there because it is soft and flexible.” Somudutt died. The sons realised that anything stiff doesn't last long, but soft things last. Therefore they should not be harsh to others.
