    Solution :

    Let the distance be \[x\] km. Time taken by the first runner \[=\frac{x}{10}\] hrs Time taken by the second runner \[=\frac{x}{12}\] hrs Now,\[\frac{x}{10}-\frac{x}{12}=\frac{10}{60}\] or,\[\frac{6x-5x}{60}=\frac{1}{6}\] or,\[\frac{x}{60}=\frac{1}{6}\] or,\[x=\frac{60}{6}=10\]km
