    Percentage growth in population of six towns A, B, C, D, E and F from 2014 to 2015 and from 2015 to 2016.
    If the population of Town C and D in 20 i 5 are in the ratio of 2 : 3 and the population of Town C in 2014 was 2.5 lakh, what was the population of town D in 2015?

    Solution :

     \[\frac{{{C}_{2015}}}{{{D}_{2015}}}=\frac{2}{3}\]and \[{{C}_{2014}}=2.5\,\]lakh \[\therefore \]\[{{C}_{2015}}=\frac{2.5\times 140}{100}=3.50\]lakh \[\therefore \]Population of D in \[2015=\frac{3\times 3.5}{2}=5.25\]lakh
