    Direction: In the following questions, a question followed by two statements is given. You have to choose are out of the given five choices that answers the questions.
    Akash bought a lottery ticket worth Rs.800. Since he had no money himself, he took the money from three other people A, B and C in the ratio of 2:7:5; He did not invest himself. However, it was decided that if Akash won the lottery, 60% of the money would go to Akash and the rest 40% would be .distributed among A, B and C in the ratio of their contributions. If Akash wins, what will be his share?
    Statements:
    I. Akash won lottery of Rs.4 lakh.
    II. Akash won the lottery and A, B and C together got Rs.160000.

    A)  Statement I alone is sufficient to answer the question but II alone is not sufficient to answer the question.

    B)  Statement II alone is sufficient to answer the question but I alone is not sufficient to answer the question.

    C)  Both statements taken together are sufficient to answer the question but neither statement alone is sufficient to answer the question.                        

    D)  Either statement alone is sufficient to answer the question,                                        

    E)  Statement I and II together are not sufficient and additional data is needed to answer the question.

    Solution :

    From I. Akash's share \[=\frac{4\times 60}{100}=\]Rs.2.4 lakh Hence I is sufficient to answer the question. From II. 40% of share of the lottery = Rs.16000 \[\therefore \]Lottery value \[=\frac{160000}{40}\times 100=\]Rs.4 lakh \[\therefore \]Akash share \[=\frac{4\times 60}{100}=\]Rs. 2.4 lakh Hence either I or II is sufficient to answer the question.
