    If the fare of Indigo is Rs.5000 in 2013 and that of Air India is Rs.4000 in 2010 for all classes of passengers, then what is the ratio of the number of passengers of Indigo in the year 2013 to that of Air India in the year 2010?

    Solution :

      Total income of Indigo in 2013 = Rs.5 crore Fare of Indigo = Rs.5000 per passenger \[\therefore \]Total number of passengers \[=\frac{5\,crore}{5000}=10000\] Total income of Air India in 2010 = Rs.25 crore \[\therefore \]Number of passengers \[=\frac{Rs\,25\,crore}{Rs\,4000}=62500\] \[\therefore \]Reqd ratio = 10000 : 62500 = 4: 25
