Direction: In the question there are given two or more statements followed by two conclusions numbered I and II. You have to take the given statements to be true even if they seem to be at variance with commonly known facts. Read all the conclusions and then decide which of the given conclusions logically follows from the given statements disregarding commonly known facts.
    Statements:     No east is west.
                            No west is north.
Conclusions:    I. There is a possibility that some easts are north.
II. A west can never be an east.

    A)  if only conclusion I follows.

    B)  if only conclusion II follows.

    C)  if either conclusion I or II follows.

    D)  if neither conclusion I nor II follows.

    E)  if both conclusions I and II follow.

    Correct Answer: E

    Solution :

No east is west + No west is north =E+E=No conclusion. But possibility between east and north can be established. So the possibility in I exists. Hence conclusion I follows. Again, No east is west \[\to \]conversion\[\to \]No west is east. Hence conclusion II follows.
