Direction: Questions from 6 to 8 are based on the following passage.
The work has different meanings. However, in physics, it has a special meaning. It represents a special physical quantity which is defined as, 'work is done by a force when the force acting on a body produces motion in it, in the direction of the force applied'. And the work done by the force acting on the object is equal to the product of the force and the displacement of the object in the direction of the force. The amount of work done by a force acting on an object depends on two factors, magnitude of the applied force and displacement of the object. When amount of applied force is increased, amount of work done by the force also increases. Similarly when the amount of displacement of the body in the direction of the applied force is increased, the amount of work done by the force also increases. Work is a scalar quantity means it has only magnitude not direction and unit of the work is joule.
In which one of the following conditions, work is said to be done by a force?

    A) When a force acts on an object and the object moves

    B) When a force acts on an object and the object does not move

    C) When the amount of force which acts on the object is greater than a certain value

    D) When the amount of force which acts on the object is smaller than a certain value

    E) None of these

    Correct Answer: A
