    Solution :

    Let the third number = x \[\therefore \] The second number = 3x and first number \[=\frac{3x}{2}\] According to the question,             \[x+3x+\frac{3x}{2}=3\times 44\] \[\Rightarrow \]   \[\frac{2x+6x+3x}{2}=132\] \[\Rightarrow \]   \[11x=264\] \[\Rightarrow \]   \[x=\frac{264}{11}=24\] \[\therefore \]      The largest number = 3x             \[=2\times 24=72\]
