    Let the age of Renu \[=x\,yr\] and age of Renu's mother \[=y\,yr\]             \[(y-5)=2(x-5)\] \[\Rightarrow \]   \[y-5=3x-15\] \[\Rightarrow \]   \[y-3x=-10\]                               ?(i) and       \[(y+5)=2(x+5)\] \[\Rightarrow \]   \[y+5=2x+10\] \[\Rightarrow \]   \[y-2x=5\]                                 ?(ii) On solving Eqs. (i) and (ii), we get \[x=15,\] \[y=35\] \[\therefore \] Renu's present age \[=15\,yr\]
