    Solution :

    \[A:B=2:3=\frac{2}{3}:1\] \[\therefore \]      \[B:C=4:3=1:\frac{3}{4}\] and       \[C:D=1:\frac{3}{2}=\frac{3}{4}:\frac{9}{8}\] \[\therefore \]      \[A:B:C:D=\frac{2}{3}:1:\frac{3}{4}:\frac{9}{8}\]             \[=16:24:18:27\] \[\because \]       Total amount \[=Rs.\,3400\] \[\because \]       B's share \[=\frac{24\times 2400}{16+24+18+27}=960\] and       D's share \[=\frac{27\times 3400}{85}\]                           \[=Rs.1080\] \[\therefore \]      Sum of shares B and D             \[=Rs.\,960\,\,\text{+}\,\,\text{Rs}.1080=Rs.\,2040\]
