    Solution :

    Let the numbers are 3x and 4x. \[\frac{3x-5}{4x-5}=\frac{2}{3}\] \[\Rightarrow \]   \[9x-15=8x-10\] \[\Rightarrow \]   \[x=5\] \[\therefore \]      The smaller number\[=3\times 5=15\]
