    Let the age of retired teacher \[=x\,yr\] and       average of 10 teachers \[=y\,yr\] \[\therefore \]      Total of 10 teachers \[=10y\] Total of 10 teachers including a new teacher.             \[=(10y-x+25)yr\] \[\therefore \]      \[y-3=\frac{10y-x+25}{10}\] \[\Rightarrow \]   \[10y-30=10y-x+25\] \[\Rightarrow \]   \[x=55\] \[\therefore \] Age of retired teacher \[=55\,yr\]
