    Solution :

    Ratio of Copper and Zinc \[=5:2\] Total weight of alloy \[=17500\,g\] \[\therefore \] Weight of Copper \[=\frac{5}{7}\times 17500=12500\,g\] \[\Rightarrow \] Weight of Zinc \[=17500-12500\]    \[=5000\,g\] 1250 g of Zinc is mixed with the alloy. \[\therefore \] Total weight of Zinc \[=5000+1250=6250\,g\] \[\therefore \] New ratio \[=12500:6250\]                     \[=2:1\]
