    Solution :

    Since 18% of the students neither play football nor cricket. It means 82% of the students either play football or cricket or both. \[\therefore \]      \[n(A\cup B)=n(A)+n(B)-n(A\cap B)\] \[\Rightarrow \]   \[82=40+50-n(A\cap B)\] \[\Rightarrow \]   \[n(A\cap B)\]             \[=90-82=8\] \[\therefore \] 8% students play both games.
